Bien Hecho Academy

In addition to providing first class carpentry and design services, Bien Hecho Brooklyn is also the proud home of the Bien Hecho Academy.  Spearheaded by John Randall in collaboration with Tim Dowse of Third Ward, the Bien Hecho Academy is a series of grand new woodworking courses that not only offer a solid education in the fundamentals of woodworking, but also provide insight into the complete process of creating fine furniture, from tree all the way to the last coat of finish.

Introduction to Woodworking - Thursday Class

Have you ever looked at a tree, then looked at your coffee table and wondered how that happens?

Starting with the basic properties of wood and continuing on through machine use, joinery and finally the construction of your own piece of furniture, this introductory course will give you a thorough understanding of the principles of woodworking. Students will make a cutting board and small side/coffee table, the cost of wood is included.

This introductory course will meet for 6 weeks on Thursdays from 7pm-10pm, at the home of Bien Hecho in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.  Full instructions and directions will be e-mailed upon the completion of your purchase.
